Tip of the Month:

Playing in the Wind

With the strong spring wind upon us, allow us to offer some assistance in choosing the right shot to help battle the elements.

Club Selection:

Take more club and swing easier, trying to hit a ball harder will only put extra spin on the ball.  If the ball has extra spin on it the wind will affect the trajectory and shape more.

Hitting Knock Down Shots:

Play the ball back in your stance and have a shallower decent on the ball and keep your follow through low to the ground.

Putting:

Take a wider stance for more balance.  Also, remember to take the wind in consideration when reading putts.  If the wind is coming from the left it may keep a ball from breaking right, also if you have a down wind putt it may be faster.

Chipping:

The bump and run is a more affective in the wind, keeping the ball down out of the wind will help you be more accurate on your chips.
